What is changing?
Over the coming months, FCU Community Financial (formerly First Credit Union) members will transition to Vancity’s banking systems, products, services, and digital banking experience. We’ll provide information, support, and advance notice of any changes that affect you.
When will I be transitioned?
Members will be transitioned at different times. We’ll contact you directly before your transition date and let you know if there are any actions you need to take.
How will I know when it’s my turn?
We’ll communicate important information through mail, email, and other member communications. Please ensure your contact information is up to date, so you don’t miss any important updates.
Will I need to do anything before my transition?
Depending on the products and services you use, you may need to complete certain actions before your transition date. We’ll provide personalized instructions if any action is required.
What will happen to FCU Online Banking?
Once you’re transitioned to Vancity Digital Banking, FCU online banking and the FCU mobile app will no longer be available.
Will I need to download a new mobile app?
Yes. Members transitioning to Vancity Digital Banking will need to use the Vancity mobile app. Additional instructions will be provided before your transition.
Will my login process change?
Some members will receive new login instructions as part of the transition. We’ll provide information specific to your situation by mail before your transition date.

Will my accounts change?
Some members may experience account, product, or service changes as part of the transition. If changes apply to you, we’ll communicate them directly and explain what they mean for you.
Will I lose access to my account history?
If there is information you’d like to keep for your records, we recommend downloading your transaction history before your transition date.
Will my account numbers change?
Any account changes that affect you will be explained in the personalized communications you receive before your transition.
Will my rates change?
Not all members will experience the same changes as part of the transition. If any changes to your accounts, products, services, or rates affect you, we’ll communicate them directly and provide advance notice.
What if I have CRA direct deposit or other automatic deposits set up?
Additional information will be provided if you need to update any account information after transition.
Will I receive a new debit card?
No. New MEMBER CARD® debit cards will not be issued as part of the transition. If you’ve previously been notified about moving to a single MEMBER CARD®, we’ll provide any instructions you need before your transition.
How do I know which MEMBER CARD® to use?
If you’ve received a communication about moving to one MEMBER CARD®, make sure you have the correct card available for your transition. Once your transition is complete and you’ve confirmed the correct card is working, securely destroy any cards you’re no longer using.
Will my current debit card continue to work?
We’ll communicate any important dates related to your debit card before changes take effect.
Will my Interac e-Transfer® contacts transfer to Vancity Digital Banking?
No. Interac e-Transfer® contacts will not move to the new platform. We recommend making note of any contacts you’d like to add again after transition.
Should I complete pending Interac e-Transfer®s before transitioning?
Yes. We recommend completing any pending Interac e-Transfer® transactions before your transition date.
What if I use Interac e-Transfer® Autodeposit?
You may need to set up Autodeposit again after transition. Additional instructions will be provided before the transition.
Will delegate access transfer automatically?
No. Delegates and user access will need to be set up again after transition.
What should I do before transitioning my business accounts?
Depending on the services you use, you may wish to download transaction history, Small Business Invoicing information, and other records before your transition date.
Will my business receive separate instructions?
Yes. Business members will receive communications outlining any actions they need to take before transition.
Is my personal information secure?
Protecting your personal and financial information remains a top priority throughout the transition.
How can I tell if a communication is legitimate?
We’ll provide information through official FCU Community Financial and Vancity communication channels. If you’re ever unsure, contact us directly before taking action.
Will you ever ask me for my password or PIN?
No. We will never ask for your password, PIN, verification code, or full banking credentials through email or text message.
Will you ever ask me to move my money to a “safe account”?
No. We will never ask you to move money to a “safe,” “secure,” or “new” account.
When will the transition happen?
The transition will take place in phases. We’ll communicate key milestones, transition dates, and any required actions directly to affected members.
How much notice will I receive?
We’ll provide sufficient notice before any changes affecting your accounts, products, services, or digital banking access take effect.

Will I still be able to bank at my local branch?
Yes. FCU Community Financial branches will continue serving members throughout the transition. While some members may experience changes such as a new transit number, you’ll continue to have access to your local branch and the personalized service and support you’ve come to expect.
